You know the phrase “stop and smell the roses?” I can’t tell you how true and necessary that is to reenergize. I have found that because we live most of our lives in containers, i.e., homes, offices, cars, malls, we forget that we are actually energetically connected to nature. We go from one container to another, to another, rarely stopping to see all the beautiful natural elements at play.
I have learned that these small (or large) moments of connecting to nature can really help in redistributing energy and reminding us that we are blessed; for we are alive and can exist in harmony with the world around us. There is so much energy to gather through our senses:
- Let your skin absorb the sun for a second
- Smell a delicate flower
- Watch butterflies lightly flutter around
- Feel the crisp grass underneath your feet
- Listen to the smooth sounds of a bird’s chirp
- Breathe in the dewy air of fresh rain
If you find yourself feeling down or with low energy, I encourage you to take a walk or step outside for a bit. Remind yourself that because you give so much, you deserve to take these moments. Whether alone or with others, I feel safe and at home when I allow myself to connect with nature. Vacations are lovely and at times necessary, but these small, honest moments within the elements that were created for us, are the key to continuous energy.
